We come from around Ulverston, Broughton, Barrow and Millom and we run all over the South Lakes. Guests are always welcome at our Tuesday evening social runs and membership is open to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest club constitution is available to read <a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/11\/BCR-Constitution-Nov-2022.docx\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a good year we organise a few fell races:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=549\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"549\">Black Combe Fell Race<\/a> is in early March<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=407\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"407\">Caw Fell Race<\/a> is in May<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=734\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"734\">Duddon Valley Races<\/a> are in June<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=737\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"737\">Bootle Show Race<\/a> (Dark Side of the Combe) is in August<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=741\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"741\">Eskdale Show<\/a> is in September<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=484\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"484\">Dunnerdale Fell Race<\/a> is in November<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcrunners.org.uk\/?page_id=569\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"569\">Kirkby Moor Fell Race<\/a> is in late November<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the winter our social runs come a little lower down the fell \u2013 mostly \u2013 and someone will usually organise a longer run at the weekend. Fell shoes do very well in deep snow. We also organise a winter training league of Sunday morning fell, trail and cross-country chases.  The club is also affiliated with the Broughton Runners, who offer a coached session every Thursday evening in Broughton-in-Furness.  Join the &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/2988062557912215\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/2988062557912215\">Thursday Runners<\/a>&#8216; Facebook group for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our social runs range across the southern fells from Eskdale to Windermere, and each year we pick a different set of local races for our road and fell championships. Mid-year the club organises a Summer Challenge involving elaborate (and sometimes arbitrary) routes across large parts of the Lakeland Fells, completed as a team-effort and usually finishing with a BBQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have runners of all ages, abilities and interests, from GB team members to the old donkey who is writing this page, and roughly equal numbers of men and women. Most of us don\u2019t get near the prizes but we all love to run on the fells. New members are always welcome and membership is very cheap, but you don\u2019t have to join the club to come out for a run.
