Black Combe summer race

The summer race is an informal club challenge organised by Matthew. This year we’re still on the shorter route because the bottom of Townend Gill is dangerously eroded and overgrown, so:
- Start at Whicham Church steps
- Checkpoint at the main summit
- Checkpoint at the south summit (put your bearing in!)
- Checkpoint at White Stones
- Checkpoint on Sea Ness top cairn
- Finish at the Church again
Matthew will flag the course on the afternoon of the race. The official start is 6:30 but there’s a 6:15 head start if you want it, and you are welcome to run earlier or later and record your own time.
(We start at the Church not the fell gate because a. course is quite short already and b. midges)
